About this project.
12 miles of protective riparian buffers will be restored at critical water bodies across an estimated six priority HUC12 sub-watersheds. An average buffer of 300ft (width) across 12 linear miles (length) will result in approximately 436 acres of direct forest enhancements. A robust suite of ecological restoration techniques will improve riparian forest function and make it more climate-adaptive.
Location
New Hampshire
Project Type
Ecological restoration and forest management.
Environmental Benefits
- Reduces soil erosion and sedimentation in water bodies
- Provides vital habitats for wildlife
- Reduces vulnerability to floods and droughts
- Supports the local nursery and plantation industry
